Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s March Stamp of the Month – Family Legacy.

This layout has a base of French Vanilla Cardstock that I have then rubbed Mink Ink Pad over the surface to distress it a bit. The patterned papers are from the new “Yesterday & Today” paper collection, and the stars are from the “Yesterday & Today foil die cuts”.

Here is another version of basically the same layout, but with my fast becoming favourite mixed media style. Same papers, with the matching inks used to distress the background – in a similar style to my layout shared in a post last month.

Keep Your Head Up – Bushfire Relief Charity Stamp Set

This is a very special round of the Australasian Close To My Heart Blog Hop. Today I’d like to share with you three cards that I’ve made using the stamp set, some scrap of paper from my stash and my favourite card inspiration “Make It From Your Heart” Vol 4. I can’t talk these books up enough. When you aren’t feeling the creative juices flowing these are great to give you ideas. And the best bit all the measurements are there so you can quickly cut the pieces and create.

Celebrate Today

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s Featured collection “Celebrate Today”. This project is another mixed media special.

Using predominately cardstock and a few highlight pieces of Celebrate Today papers, the sticker sheet and some Julep Shimmer Trim. The background was created by scrunching up some cellophane wrap from a product packaging and dipping this into some ink and water mixed. I then dabbed the mix onto the background. I used three different colours. Then I mixed some texture paste with ink to colour it and using a hexagon stencil I scrapped texture paste in a few places. Once dry I added the hexagon stamping randomly in both first and second generation. This helped to anchor the pattern to the page and make some of the colour pop more. I also added some of the star stickers too.

Behind the wooden arrow I stamped some splotches. The balloons were fussy cut from a Celebrate Today Picture My Life card. The shaker pocket is a 3×3 flip flap with sequins and stars, then sealed shut. You lift up to add journalling.

This layout will feature in my technique classes I’m running later in the month.

This second page was designed by Doreen Camalleri and we created this at a consultant training day. It utilities the matching stamp set. The tag has been cut from a PML card and the flowers are fussy cut from the main paper. My customers made this at my workshop earlier in the month.

Cherishing Her

Today I would like to share with you a couple of creations which features Close To My Heart’s February Stamp of the Month. A good thing to note with this stamp of the month is that you have the option to purchase it in the English or American spellings. I’ll put the codes at the bottom for you.

Card Number 1

This card was created using the bunch of flowers stamp in Charcoal ink and repeating just the flowers section on a piece of white cardstock. Sometimes the leaves and flowers overlapped a little bit, which I didn’t mind.

The sentiment is stamped onto the square from the the centre of a piece from one of the Celebrate Today Subscription kits. But you could create a similar look with a white piece of card matted on an ombre coloured piece. The ‘mum’ I stampped in Lagoon Ink, whilst the rest is in Intense Black.

The strip of striped blue is a piece from the Celebrate Today papers, and some of the new Soft Pink Shimmer Trim. I raised the stamped background piece up with 3D foam tape off the card base. Some with the sentiment.

Cards Numbers 2 & 3

The card below uses the new Scallop Circle Thin Cut, some Silver Embellishing Thread, and some Cool Mint Stickles (in the centre of the flowers), combined again with the blue paper from Celebrate Today Collection. Plus this time some white Glitter Paper. The white background on the left card has been dry embossed with a floral embossing folder.

I made these two cards the other week at a consultant training day. They were designed by my friend Doreen. And are beautiful classic cards.

The last artwork I wish to leave you with is from the CTMH Art Studio. You can see this stamp set really works with any colour palette.

Bring Back My Pack “Urban”

Today I would like to share with you a scrapbook creation which features Close To My Heart Featured collection “Urban”.

This layout was created again with scraps left over after making the projects from the Urban Workshop Kit. I didn’t have a lot left over, so using some French Vanilla Cardstock as my base I set about grunging up the background, drawing on skills that I’ve been learning at an Art Journaling course I’ve been doing. Instead of paint for the background I rubbed Saffron and Toffee Exclusive Ink pads across the surface. I then stamped a variety of the stamps from the matching stamp set in a variety of places around the page – in a trio. I used a variety of Sapphire, Peacock, Toffee and Pewter Exclusive Inks. At times you’ll see that the stamp is not stamped correctly, either incomplete or even sideways/upside down and this is by design. Along with first, second and even third or fourth generation stamping. I also scrapped in the unstamped areas some transparent texture paste and then sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder on it whilst still wet. I choose not to heat the embossing powder, instead leaving it grainy to create another texture on the page.

Spruced Up

Today I would like to share with you two creations which feature the Close To My Heart Featured collection “Spruced Up”.

This card was made using the Spruced Up Papers and the Spruced Up – Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cut Set. The bird was stamped in Expresso Exclusive Ink, the branch in New England Ivy Exclusive Ink, and the title in Intense Black Exclusive Ink. Inspiration for this card was taken from a card I saw created by another consultant, Anna Jarnagin.

Another using up scraps layout that I love to do. The papers were left overs after I’d made up a kit that we, as consultants, were given at a Catalogue Launch Event. The beauty of this layout is that you don’t need big pieces. None of the patterned papers that “go under” the photograph actually go under. I just had two pieces the same width and poke out each side – using my ruler to line them up. The little birds on branches were fussy cut from some of the paper.

Everyday Magic

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s January Stamp of the Month “Everyday Magic”.

I decided that this time around I was in need of some cards to top up my stash (I regularly give cards to friends and work colleagues for a variety of occasions). The new Celebrate Today Picture My Life Cards, the new Lagoon and Raspberry Shimmer Brushes, the new Soft Pink Shimmer Trim, and the new Holographic Paper had taken my fancy from the new Catalogue that has been released today. I combined these with some old favourites like Julep Glitter Gems, Pewter and Intense Black Exclusive Inks, and 3D foam tape.

The end result was these cards. And I’ve still got left over PML cards to make more. I just ran out of time in this sitting. I feel that these sentiment stamps will make for beautiful scrapbook pages and cards alike. I’d love to see what you create with them.

Some of the cards have used sentiments that were already printed on the cards. While others use sentiments from the stamp set. And the grey hearts are from the stamp set. I can see a lot of them in my future.

Best Friends Furever

Today I would like to share with you something non Christmas… yay!! It’s a creation which features the Close To My Heart “Best Friends Furever” Collection. And I’ve totally chosen to use it in a non pet kind of way.

With the backing yellow pattern I actually cut the centre out so the middle wasn’t wasted and used it to mat the photos. I’ve also added a bit piece of cardstock under the “living our best lives” sticker to make it stand out from the background. And the “treat yourself” stick was actually dog bone shaped – but I cut of the sides to make it appear like a dovetailed piece.

Cedar and Pine

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart Featured collection “Cedar and Pine”. I created this whilst in Utah back in November at the CTMH Album Retreat. and we were using Cedar and Pine along with Mix In Papers and also papers from a few older paper packs and embellishments that you can still find available in the Online Only section of the CTMH website.

This layout combines the Cedar and Pines papers, the wooden arrows (which I have coloured black by rubbing across the Black Ink Pad), the Every Little Thing Vellum Die Cuts (coloured on the back with Tri-Blend Markers), some of the x9007 Mix In Papers, and black cardstock. The flower embellishments were fussy cut from a piece of paper.

Don’t forget that using up the scraps is still a great thing to do. This layout combines scraps from four different paper packets.

Reindeer Crossing

Today I would like to share with you a couple of cards which features Close To My Heart’s December Stamp of the Month – Reindeer Crossing.

I’ve chosen to use this stamp set to make a couple of Christmas Cards.

This card uses the pine branch with pine cone stamped in Evergreen Exclusive Ink around a circle I drew using the inside of the 3D foam tape as a size scale. When stamping the branch cluster I overlapped the branches, and the stick end of the branch almost into the centre of the circle. I then fussy cut this wreath out and attached with 3D foam to the white daisy cardstock piece (approximately 5″ x 3.75″). I cut a circle from Evergreen Card Stock with the Stitched Circle Thin Cuts, and used this to cover the centre ‘mess’. For extra sparkle I added a circle thin cut from Gold Glitter paper. The sentiment was stamped in Ruby Exclusive Ink. This white daisy cardstock was matted onto Ruby cardstock.

This time I’ve stamped the pine branch and pine cone along the edge of a masked area that I later stamped the sentiment in. Again I fussy cut this piece and attached with 3D foam to the white daisy cardstock and matted with Evergreen cardstock.
