Sending Cheer Card

The next installment of the Card Chain Swap Cards that we started in April has arrived. It’s a fun journey with 9 other Australian demonstrators. It is a card version of what is called “Chinese Whispers” in Australia. Each of us designed a card (in mailing round 1) and sent it off to one of the other participants. That person CASE-d (Copy And Share Everything / Copy And Selectively Edit) the card and send their version on to the next person. The card made its way around until finally a version came home to the maker. This is the sixth card in this series of blog hops for each of the card designs to share the fun and amazement at the evolution.

My card below was the 6th version of the card made by Carolina, another fellow Victorian. So, if you want to see how the design started out be sure to check hers out first and follow around in order. Some of the ladies’ blog and some share to their Facebook Pages (or both).

To make this card I started with a Cherry Cobbler cardstock base. The front panel was sliced to leave a gap in the middle which is filled with a piece of Window Sheet (#142314). The cardstock section at the top and the bottom is 1 1/4″ high. I’ve used a now retired Christmas Designer Series Paper. But you can used what ever you wish. The strips of the pattern are 1″ high and long enough to leave a matching edge showing of the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. The bauble and sentiments stamps are from the Festive Cheer Bundle (#168133). I’ve used Cherry Cobbler, Peaceful Pine, Pecan Pie and Black inks. I’ve used some Bakers Twine for the bauble strings. The Baubles are attached on the top of the card, alternating between raising up on foam dimensionals and some direct to card front. I also add some bling into the centre of some of the baubles. Be careful when stamping the sentiment that it will show through the middle window between the baubles.

To see all the beautiful cards head here. This was a fun one to follow around.

Until next time,

Happy Crafting
