Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s June Stamp of the Month – Botanical Shadows (S2306). Instanly when I saw this stamp set I thought of sunset images. Which is exactly what the Close To My Heart Art Studio thought of too.

I was looking for ohter ideas to share with my wonderful workshop ladies. My wonderful upline and friend Chris Lothian shared some ideas she had and I’ve taken on her inspirations and created these.

To make these panels directly onto the card base I used the CTMH Masking Tape (Z4607 for the 4″ wide or Z4606 for the 1″ wide. Then using three colours of distress oxide inks, which includes on light colour for blending and softening, with the CTMH Blending Brushes (Z4572).

Leaving the masking tape in place I stamped in first and second generation the script stamp from the Dream Maker Stamp Set (CC3234). Then in first generation I stamped my choice of the floral stamps from the Stamp of the month (S2306). Using the CTMH Exclusive Inks for stamping on top of the Distress Ixide Inks. The Exclusive inks are waterbased and thus they soak into the water reactive Distress Oxides.

Lastly I stamped the floral stamps again – this time in white daisy ink, and slightly offset from the first stamping. The Pigment ink sits ontop of the paper and other inks, whilst still in places absorbing some of the underneath colour.

Once I removed the masking tape, I then stamped a sentiment from then Stamp of the Month set.

National Scrapbooking Month

As you would guess National Scrapbooking Month is mostly about Scrapbooking, however at Close To My Heart they have developed a beautiful product collection entitled Dream Maker and with it some Scrapbooking, Mini Album and Card Making Workshops too.



So today I want to share with you a card that I created, inspired by the multimedia style of these Dream Maker stencils and stamps combined with another favourite of mine in the current seasonal catalogue – the Butterfly Slimline Embossing Folder and Stencils (Z4698) – which I think is a real bargain at $A21.50.

The black butterflys represent the embossing folder and the the grey images are the stencils. So I embossed white daisy cardstock and then brushed the CTMH exclusive inks through the stencils with the blending brush (Z4572). I then stamped onto with a grey ink using the dream maker stamp set – the text block in particular. I didn’t even used a stamp block as I wanted the uneven look of free form stamping. I just held the stamp in my fingers and just inked up small areas of it. I did the same with one of the distressed line stamps too. Hope you like my finished results of two slimline cards.

Hey Handsome!

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s Hey Handsome papers that has been designed by my friend Paula Gee. She shared this with us at a Maker training day last month.

This layout was created using strips of the patterned papers, distressing the edges. Some of the photo mats have a torn edge for extra detail. And on the mink cardstock base there has been some tone on tone stamping. The stamps a few from Paula’s stash.

Nature

Today I would like to share with you soem card creations which features the April Stamp of The Month, a sneak of the May Stamp of the Month and some of my other fav products from Close To My Heart.

The April Stamp of the Month (S2304) – Sweet Tweets is a cutie. The birds and darling sentiments really do lend themselves to cards. And I’ve seen some beautiful examples from my crafty friends that have some beautiful colouring of the birds, however I feel that in this instance leaving them black and white makes them pop off the colours in the background papers. The background glacier print paper and the strip of arrows are from my stash of treasures. The wood grain and hesian look paper is one of the new double sided papers from the April-June Mix in Paper collection X9048. This paper has some great neutral pattern and texture papers that compliment not only the papers in the April-June Seasonal Expression Catalogue, but many other papers in our previous ranges. The stars and hearts are from a packet of enamel dots that I the coloured with Metallic Paint Markers.

Using up more of my treasures and the woodgrain/hessian paper again – this is a sneak peak at the May Stamp of the Month S2305 – Little Stinkers.

And this card is using the same papers, Melon Flowers (Z4642) with a Bitty Sparkle (Z1263) in the centre. And some stamps from my stash.

Down Under

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s March Stamp of the Month – Precious Moments (S2303E). But before I do – did you know that the “E” after a stamp number means that it has the British English Spelling? Well for when it matters it does – for words like Mum and in this stamp set favourite (the American’s spell it favorite).

This card I’m sharing today was designed by my friend Alison Dunn at a recent Maker Training day, and I thought it would be perfect for any of the cute animals from the stamp set. It is a quick and cute card. Cut a panel to fit your card base. Dry emboss with your favourite embossing folder. Attache to the card base. Cut two 2″ circles, one gets cut in half to go on each side. Then cut a larger white cirle – 2.5″. Stamp on this your desired image or sentiment. I choose to ink the edge to help the circle pop off the background. And I raised it on 3D foam tape. Add bling of your choice. I used some from the Pink Enamel Dots collection.

Life’s a Hoot

Today I would like to share with you a couple of creations which feature Close To My Heart’s March Featured collection – Life’s a Hoot. Firstly a scrapbook layout. I love “scraplifting” layouts that I see and using them to create my own version of something I saw somewhere. This time I’ve scraplifted a layout from the CTMH current Seasonal Expressions Catalogue.

This was using the Life’s a Hoot paper pack with stickers, Grape Exclusive Inks for inking the edges of some of the papers, a mix of different coloured CTMH enamel Dots, I stamped with the S2303E Precious Moments stamp of the month in Intense Black Ink, I coloured the stamped animals using a variety od Shimmer Brushes. For the heading is used the Woodgrain Alphabet Chipboard letters, that I inked up with some purple Distress Oxides ink.

The second project is a card that I used the beautiful owl from the set Z4681 LIfe’s a Hoot Scrapbooking stamp and thin cut set. I used just the tail stamped 7 times and fussy cut to create the petals of the flower and his tummy to be the centre of the flower. I coloured with some tri-blend markers. The final touch was a splattering of the White and Gilt gloss sprays.

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s February Stamp of the Month – Sprintime Borders (S2303) – as it’s a full Borders Stamp Set. And I just love it. It is so fun and has some great icons that would be really useful in my scrapbooking layouts.

I needed a quick birthday card, so I combined this set with the Starter Sentiments (B18150 and some brightly coloured inks and the Melon Flowers (Z4642). I stamped mostly directly onto the card base. So I used some of the 1″ Masking Tape (Z4606) to mask off the back side of the card that I didn’t want to stamp on.

I then stamped the Happy Birthday again on some scrap White Daisy Card and then raised it up on foam tape. And it was done.

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s Featured collection – Storybook. Specifically the Storybook Picture My Life Cards. I absolutely love these 6×4″ and 3×4″double sided cards – they have a variety of patterns, words and pictures that compliment the paper pack. And a lot of them work beautifully to create some quick and easy cards. I whipped these three up with the help of my beautiful middle daughters assistance – she was determined to help me.

Love is All Around

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s special “Now and Forever”

This first card I created is for my husband to celebrate our Anniversary the other day. It uses the Now and Forever Papers and Stickers (CC1221). The papers on the bottom section of the card are just 1″ strips that I tore the edges to show the white core and then over lapped them.

Continuing on with strips – I used some inspirations that I got from the CTMH Maker FB Group and transferred the ideas to these beautiful papers. Again I used the Now and Forever paper and stickers, and I added the matching Embroidered Embellishments (CC12226). These are just like really embroidered patches and badges you can buy, with 3M adhesive on the back. I love them.

The first card is very similar to the one I made my husband, I added in some sticker strips into the layers of torn papers. The second card I did some faux stitching with my black journaling pen and inked the edges of the patterned paper strips. I also used gold glitter gems on this one (Z3312). On the third card I mounted the strips of pattern onto a white daisy rectangle and then mounted to the card front. I also used some of the pink dots (Z4627).

For these three cards I used a technique that a fellow Maker Michelle taught me. You start with three patterned paper pieces that are 4 x 5 1/4″. I then cut all three pieces together at the same time on my trimmer. The first cut ran on an angle from 2″ up from the bottom on the left side to 1 1/4″ up from the bottom on the right side. I then spun the papers around and repeated this from the other end. You could do any angle as long as it’s the same top and bottom. Then I mixed the patterned pieces up. On some I added zip strips or sticker strips across the joins. I added stickers and gold glitter gems to embellish.

For those following along with my 2023 goals, my second goal was to make 23 cards a month. This takes me up to 13 Cards for the month. Yay!!
