The second round of our Card Chain Swap Cards that we started in April has landed. And I’m super excited as mine is the first card in the chain. Yay!! And yes clearly ‘Beautiful Ordinary Life’ was one of my favourite paper packs – using it in last weeks chain post and this one. I still love it months later too. At the time of writting this post it is still avaliable if you like it too.

If you’ve not followed one of our Card Chain Swaps here is a little descripton. It’s a fun journey with 9 other Australian demonstrators. It is a card version of what is called “Chinese Whispers” in Australia. Each of us designed a card (in mailing round 1) and sent it off to one of the other participants. That person CASE-d (Copy And Share Everything / Copy And Selectively Edit) the card and send their version on to the next person. The card made its way around until finally a version came home to the maker. So, if you want to see how the design started out be sure to follow around in order. Some of the ladies’ blog and some share to their Facebook Pages (or both).

For my card, I chose to use papers from the “Beautiful Ordinary Life’ Designer Series Paper (#167553) in the arched pieces. I cut three different arches using the ‘Everyday Arches Drive’ (#164629) and then cut them into three pieces. This alllowed me to make three ‘different’ cards at the same time – see below.

The background layer is Basic White cardstock die cut with the April Product of the Month Die (if you were lucky enough to grab it – it’s a labour of love to raise each of the flower petals by hand. But the effect was so worth it.

The sentiments all came from an emphemera pack (now retired) and I used the Secret Sea 3/8″ (1 CM) ribbon (#166932) – currently still avaliable in last chance.
